How to Play Age Order
Age Order shows you five footballers and asks for something you have never consciously memorised: put them in order from youngest to oldest. No birth dates, no hints, just five faces and the vague sense that one of them has been around longer than you thought.
How a round works
Tap the five players in the order you believe is correct, youngest first, then press Check. Players standing in the right position lock in green and stay; the ones in the wrong place bounce back out so you can re-order them. You get three tries in total, and each one carries forward everything you have already locked. The puzzle is built so that no two players share an age, which means there is always exactly one correct order and never an unlucky tie.
How to think about it
Nobody knows five birth years. What you actually know is when players arrived — the season someone broke through, the tournament where they were the young one, the year they were already a veteran. Convert the question from *how old is he* to *when did I first hear of him*, and the ordering becomes far more reliable. Faces mislead constantly: some players look thirty at twenty-two, and a shaved head or a beard will cost you more places than any genuine knowledge gap.
Using the three tries properly
- Place the extremes first. You are usually most confident about the oldest and the youngest; getting those two locked turns a five-way problem into a three-way one.
- Do not reshuffle everything after a failed check. Green positions are information — keep them and move only the cards that came back.
- Swap adjacent pairs, not distant ones. Most wrong orders are two neighbouring players the wrong way round, not a complete misreading.
- Trust breakthrough seasons over faces. A player you remember as a teenage sensation five years ago is now twenty-three, however he looks today.
Where the players come from
The five are drawn from the six top leagues — Süper Lig, Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 — and only players with a real photograph enter the pool, so every card shows an actual face. Birth dates come from Wikipedia squad data and ages are calculated live rather than baked in, which is why a puzzle never quietly goes stale as the calendar moves. Images come from TheSportsDB.

Your result is whether you got the order and how many tries it took. The share button copies a spoiler-free summary. A new group of five arrives at midnight in your own time zone, the same five for everybody playing that day.
