How to Play Football Bingo
Football Bingo gives you a board of twelve categories and a queue of footballers, one at a time. Each player in front of you belongs somewhere on that board — your job is to work out where, before the next one arrives. It is the fastest game on the site and the one that punishes hesitation hardest.
How a round works
The board holds twelve categories: clubs, nations, leagues and honours. A footballer appears at the top; you tap the category you believe he belongs to. A correct tap locks the cell with his photograph and it is yours for the rest of the round. A wrong tap only shakes the cell — you lose no life, just time, and you can try a different box. If the player fits nothing still open, hit SKIP and the next one arrives. Fill all twelve to win.
Timer or no timer
Before you start you choose 90 seconds, 60 seconds, or no timer at all. Timed mode is the real game: the clock turns every decision into a gamble between the obvious box and the better one. No-timer mode exists so you can think a board through properly, and you can end it yourself with FINISH whenever you like. Whichever you choose, you get one attempt per day — whatever is on the board when it ends is your result.
The one strategy that matters
Most players fill the easiest category the moment they can, and that is how boards get stranded. The rule to internalise: a footballer who fits several boxes is a resource, not a relief. If the man in front of you matches three categories, spend him on the rarest of the three, because the other two will come round again. The categories that strand boards are almost always the narrow ones — a specific honour, a smaller nation — and they only accept a handful of players in the whole queue.
Reading the board before you start
- Find your two hardest categories immediately. Decide now that you will not fill anything else with a player who matches them.
- Clubs are the safest boxes. They come round often, so they can wait.
- Honours are the tightest. A World Cup or Champions League winner category has far fewer valid players than a club does.
- SKIP is not a failure. Skipping costs a second; filling a rare box with the wrong player costs the board.
Where the players and categories come from
The queue is drawn from players with real photographs, built out of Wikipedia squad data with images from TheSportsDB. Honour categories use full real squads — the Champions League, World Cup, European Championship and Copa América winning lists are pulled from Wikipedia and matched by full name, so a squad member who never came off the bench still counts, exactly as he should. The queue is also built for coverage: every category is guaranteed candidates early on, so a board can genuinely be solved rather than left waiting for a player who never appears.
Scoring, sharing and the daily reset
Your score is how many of the twelve you filled; a full board is a win and anything less is a loss. The share button copies a spoiler-free grid. A new board and a new player order are generated at midnight in your own time zone, and everyone on the same date plays the same one.
